Professional â€‹info

I am primarily interested in two areas of research: Strategy (CEOs and top management teams, Chairs and boards of directors, learning and knowledge creation processes, intangible strategic capabilities, strategic agility and adaptability), and Organization (creativity and innovation, intrapreneurship, positive interpersonal connections at work, organizational identification, organizational decline and downsizing, resilience, auditing, and crisis management). I have also been engaged in research on public management with a special interest in the management of fiscally distressed local government authorities for creating public value.

My main teaching experience includes courses in strategic management (business- and corporate-level strategy), strategic leadership, managing for creativity and innovation, and crisis management.

I give talks and provide tailored consulting services on strategic and managerial issues such as:

  • How managers can lead for resiliency, viability and innovation?

  • How top management teams and boards of directors can improve their strategic decision-making processes?

  • How firms can build intangible strategic capabilities and competitive advantages?

  • How to restructure a firm in difficulties to improve competitiveness?

  • How organizations can design a fertile work environment for people to thrive and innovation to flourish?

  • How organizations can prepare for, contain and bounce back from difficulties and crises?

  • Why and how work relationships across different levels and foci influence work behaviors and outcomes?

  • Why engaging in different modes of learning?

  • Why some organizations, teams and individuals are more agile than others?
